The Truth:

I voted for a committee to take on the problem of unlicensed and uninsured drivers who cause damage to Idaho residents. The vote was to form a study committee. No licenses were issued. No law was enacted. —SCR 107

HERNDON CLAIM:

“Jim voted to let illegal immigrants get drivers licenses”

The Truth:

SB 1086 enforces posted land use restrictions for public and private land. It does not close public land. I voted FOR the bill which protects private property rights. —SB 1086

HERNDON CLAIM:

“Jim voted to make public lands inaccessible”

The Truth:

Idaho has many agricultural commissions to promote their products. The Idaho Potato truck that drives around the country is paid for by potato growers, not the state. Growers assess fees upon themselves to improve their own business. The commissions operate under the supervision of the state to ensure fairness. When Commission members ask to raise their own fees, I support Idaho Ag.

HERNDON CLAIM:

“Jim voted for higher agriculture and business taxes”

The Truth:

The School Choice tax credit does not have sufficient accountability for taxpayer dollars.Schools across the state provide financial records back to the State Department of Education to validate their expenditures. Receipts in a shoebox and a private tax return aren’t adequate accountability. —HB 93

HERNDON CLAIM:

“Jim voted against a school tax credit”

The Truth:

I believe girls play on girls’ teams and boys play on boys’ teams. When I voted against HB 500 in 2020, I voted NO to avoid a lengthy court battle by getting the bill right the first time. The Idaho Attorney General said it was legally defective. Five former Republican attorney generals urged a veto. Federal courts blocked enforcement from day one. The bill has never become a law but Idaho taxpayers have been paying for it in court since 2020. —HB 500

HERNDON CLAIM:

“Jim voted to let boys play in girls’ sports”

The Truth:

I have stated repeatedly that I do not believe in elective abortions. I do however believe in treating a female before she dies of pregnancy complications. Our current law only allows a doctor to treat a pregnant woman when she is dying. The proposed bill clarified when treatment is allowed. —SB 1184

HERNDON CLAIM:

“Jim co-sponsored a bill to increase abortions”

The Truth:

This is an out and out lie and Herndon knows it. If you can’t trust him to speak the truth, what can you trust him with?

HERNDON CLAIM:

“Woodward donated to a Democrat PAC”

The Truth:

In 2022, I warned that future tax cuts would reduce the ability of the state to provide basic services. In 2025, I voted against the $253M income tax cut. I think everyone can look at our congested roads and realize we aren’t keeping up.

Since 2018, I have voted for two tax cuts, three tax rebates, an increase to the homeowner’s exemption, property tax relief, and no tax on tips and overtime.

Lie:

“Woodward voted against $253M in tax cuts”
